Society of Injury Medicine

The Society of Injury Medicine was formed to support medical professionals in the specialized area of injury medicine. We set the standards for injury medicine by collaborating, communicating, teaching, and training medical professionals who care for injured persons. We understand that injury can be complex and a team approach involving multiple specialized medical providers is often the best form of care. Our credentialed members will excel at coordinating and leading the care of the whole injured person.

 

Injury medicine sits at the crossroads of the medical system and the legal system. Credentialed members of the Society of Injury Medicine will be skilled and able to accurately and truthfully communicate the complex nature of injuries and how they affect the whole person. Society members will be able to effectively communicate the diagnosis, the treatment plan, and the potential long term outcomes to patients, other medical providers, and members of the legal system.
